Here’s a simple guide to all of those frequently asked questions that we get. However, if you don’t see a sufficient answer to your question or simply want some more advice, feel free to reach out to us personally. We love all of your questions, comments, and conversations!
The first thing that springs to mind for most of us when we hear the word upholstery is fabric, marvelous fabric! While fabric choice is paramount to creating the perfect piece for your space, what lies beneath is just as important. Upholstery is the materials that make up the soft coverings of sofas, chairs, and other furniture. This includes fabric, webbing, springs, and padding, and opting for quality materials will extend the life and enjoyment of your furniture.
Lead times for custom furniture vary widely from project to project. Factors such as size of the piece, level of detail and customization, and availability of your chosen fabric all affect the amount of time required to complete the work.
We will help you determine what type of fabric makes the most sense for your piece, from both an aesthetic and practical standpoint. One of the most important things to consider is how the furniture will be used. Pieces in high-traffic areas such as living rooms, for example, will require durable fabrics like canvas or leather, while pieces that won’t be subject to as much wear and tear can be upholstered with more fragile textiles such as silk or velvet.
We always ensure that with every piece that we upholster, we take the time to thoroughly inspect the quality and durability of your piece. In doing this inspection of your piece, it allows us to really assess the longevity and quality of your piece. We always recommend the best for our clients and try to assist them in making educated decisions.
If you haven’t noticed we are living in a disposable society. The current life span of most retail furniture only averages about 5 years. Upholstery can offer your furniture a life span of anywhere between 5 to 20 years.
We offer a no-obligation quotation. We visit your home and bring our range of fabric and leather samples with us. We listen to what you are trying to achieve, look at your chairs or sofa and give you advice and a price for doing the job. We don’t employ salespeople so you’ll never be pressured into ordering something you might later regret.
The person who visits your home will most likely be Emmanuel who is a master upholsterer himself. He will give you all of the advice you need quickly, will give you a price on the spot and will then leave you to make up your own mind.
We are master upholsterers so are experts in our field. We are also a small company so control everything ourselves. Our low overheads mean we are very unlikely to be beaten on cost.
We get most of our business through word of mouth recommendations so we know we have to leave our customers happy. We only use the best available materials from the country’s leading upholsterers. We never cut corners and that’s a promise.
